Usually in the morning I have always been busy, once there was the school, then university, then work. But it happened a time when I hadn’t to follow lessons anylonger and worked in the afternoon, and unexpectedly I had time for me in the early hours of the day and I did not know how to use them, and I found out that you can be very productive before lunch .
Or very lazy.
It was a time in my life I was really full of activities, and the idea of having free hours seemed like a luxury that I wasn’t familiar with. I definitely needed to unplug from the routine and enjoy a little this new time.
And it was then that I began to see How I met Your Mother.
It was a suggestion coming from my brother, I have to admit, that was already a fan and who had understood my need to relax and laugh a bit.
Between study and work, Ted, Lily and Robin have become my most faithful friends, I really don’t know how I would have done without the positive songs of Marshall or the Barney’s behaviour rules!
It’s a sitcom LEDG- wait for it – DARY: LEGGENDARY!!!
For nine years these characters have accompanied the lives of all of us, they have been moved to the Italian television schedule at least 18 times, but fortunately, with the DVDs, there was no problem.
Nine long years of laughter and funny situations that we have been adoring, it made me laugh, reflect, even feel motivated. But, like all good things, sooner or later they come to an end.
In this case the final, split fans into two groups, but I will not tell you anything in order not to spoil the surprise (although the weather web is full of spoilers so maybe you already know how it ends ). I put emphasis only on the fact that the authors of the series, Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, wanted to finish the sixth season, but CBS asked for another two, given that on average each season had 9 million viewers , tens of thousands more, tens of thousands less.
But you know, If you push it too far…
However, for me it was a blessing! My mornings were filled with new life, and even when I had to change its position in my schedule because of busy morning, I remained loyal to the idea that HIMYM was my good morning. And that’s why I suggest you look after preparing the eggs Benedict * shared with a nice frozen ** : the champions’ breakfast!
(the recipe is from my English friend, John)
– 4 English muffins
-20 baby spinach leaves
-125g shaved ham
-1 avocado, thinly sliced
-1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
-2 egg yolks
-150g butter, melted, cooled
-1 tablespoon lemon juice
We process vinegar and egg yolks in a food processor. With motor running, slowly we add butter in a thin stream. This should take 3 minutes. We blend in lemon juice and transfer to a bowl, season with salt and pepper. We cover surface with wrap.
We pour water into a saucepan to two-thirds fill it, add a pinch of salt and bring to the boil over medium-high heat. Then we diminish heat to medium-low.
We break 1 egg into a saucer and stir water until a whirlpool forms, we slide egg into water an cook for 3 minutes. We take out to a plate with a slotted spoon.
Repeat with remaining eggs.
Meanwhile, we have to toast muffins: we top muffin bases with spinach, ham, avocado and eggs. Drizzle with hollandaise sauce. Top with muffin tops and serve.
– 2 cups of vanilla ice cream
– 1/4 cup milk
– 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
We arrange the ice cream, milk and peanut butter in a blender and join together fine for about 45 seconds.
